Is your man a cheater? What is it with men who can’t seem to keep their hands off other woman while married? Is it the steamy hot sex they’re looking for? Having no strings attached or are they just simply having a midlife crisis?
At the moment I have a faithful guy, but that could change at any time. There’s nothing protecting me from my man cheating and there’s nothing protecting you. It happens more often than people think and it tends to be out of your control.
Men want love and affection and if they aren’t getting it in a marriage, you can bet they’re gonna look elsewhere. Whether they just look or act on their impulses, how they go about things makes a big difference within a marriage.
Over forty -years-old is when the midlife crisis tends to come for a man. You know what that looks like for most men–a new car or motorcycle. For other men, it may mean time to cheat.
Some of the ways men cheat can be online, workplace, or by phone. A man who cheats does not hold a certain job, but the higher percentages are Doctors and Lawyers. The temptation to cheat for the older man is the desire to feel younger and more alive. Often times, it makes them feel as if they’re in a new relationship. However, it’s just for the moment and not lifelong. Is a failed marriage worth it for a few minutes of pleasure?
Really it’s a choice between cheating and not cheating and just simply looking at a woman is not cheating, as every man looks at woman one time or another. To some woman it’s obvious when a man cheats or is thinking about cheating. For example some men have cheated on their woman with you, if they do it once they will do it again, right, Tori Spelling? Who was aware of Dean McDermott’s cheating before she married him?
Then there was Arnold Schwarzenegger, who actually got a woman pregnant while cheating on his wife. If having a few kids with Maria Shriver wasn’t enough, he had to have more, (not planned of course).
Then there is the good ol’ Bill Clinton, “I haven’t had any sexual relations with that woman” whether we deny it or tell the truth, it always comes back to haunt us, in a recent interview Monica Lewinsky said “I loved Bill Clinton”.
Is having an open marriage cheating? In today’s society there are both celebrities and common folk engaging in a open marriages.Even though the other spouse is aware when you are having sex with another woman, I feel that is cheating. Marriage is sacred and that is between two people, not several.
As you have noticed some of these men who have committed adultery are still married. So why do women stay?
They stay in the hopes of trying to work things out–through counseling or rehab. They stay because love can be a blinding force. They stay because sometimes the fear of the unknown is stronger then common sense. Women stay for many reasons–some will simply argue that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
Nurturing a marriage, raising children, and running a household is hard work. We are all human and with that, we make mistakes. However if you’re making mistakes over and over again, at the risk of those you love, you have to ask yourself: is this the life you truly want?
Cheating on your mate is serious business; it is not to be taken lightly, but it does not have to mean that divorce is immanent.
