Sexless relationships are more common than you think whether you have been married for months, years or decades or just dating someone having a significant other usually requires sex a few times a week. Everything today on TV is sexual; you remember those late night ad’s for phone sex operators? Sex is everything and when it comes to a relationship. Right?
Wrong! Having sex isn’t the case for everyone, most people are not aware when their friends, co-workers or family members are in a sexless relationship because of the stigma surrounding it. I mean would you tell? It’s embarrassing and quite frankly, frustrating, every time you think of it.
Looking at your sex life is one thing, but looking at the whole picture of your life is another. For some a sexless relationship is not on their agenda, but leaving your mate with no sex may not be the answer either. Only you can make the decision, but remember others are in your situation too.
Ten to twenty percent of relationships are sexless in the U.S. and some of the reasons stem from psychological reasons such as depression, bipolar, and anxiety, with medications lowering your desire to have sex with your partner, as well as you and your partner having different desires when it comes to libido. Resentment can also be an factor in a relationship, along with other top priorities.
Focus on activities for yourself, it’s all about you right now; sex is not the biggest part of your life, Sometimes you just have to let things happen when they’re ready to happen, the key is to be positive, a relationship should not be measured by the amount of sex you have, nor does it have to be discussed, but you also shouldn’t be ashamed of it either. The more awareness you have and others have the better quality of life you will have as an independent person.
If you truly want to work it out try ways to rekindle your marriage, communicate, or get help, where there is a will there is a way, everything happens for a reason!
